In short: CamSoul works entirely on your phone. Your photos, videos and edits never leave the device. The app requires no account and shows no ads. To know which ads make people discover CamSoul, it uses a measurement tool (AppsFlyer) that never receives your pictures. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play.
CamSoul is published by Stéphane Hirondelle, an independent developer ("we"). For any question about this policy, see the Support page.
CamSoul applies "vintage camera" looks to what you shoot, and lets you edit your videos. All processing (filters, effects, editing, export) happens locally on your phone's graphics processor. No image, video or sound is ever sent to a server — not to us, not to anyone else.
Your creations are kept in the app's internal gallery, on the device only. They stay there until you delete them (trash icon in the gallery) or uninstall the app. They are saved to the phone's photo library only when you explicitly ask for it ("Save to Photos" or "Share").
These permissions are used only for those features. You can revoke them at any time in the phone's settings; the related features will simply stop working.
CamSoul creates no account and asks for no name, e-mail address or location. To know which ad (TikTok, Google…) made you discover the app and measure its effectiveness, CamSoul uses AppsFlyer. It receives: app install and opens, purchases (product and amount, never your payment details), the first kept creation, technical information (device model, OS, language, IP address) and a device identifier.
Advertising identifier: on iPhone, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is only shared if you allow it in Apple's "Allow tracking" prompt; otherwise Apple only provides anonymous, aggregated attribution (SKAdNetwork). On Android, the Google advertising ID is used; you can reset or delete it in your phone settings (Google › Ads). AppsFlyer acts as a processor and only tells the ad networks concerned (TikTok, Google) that an install or purchase came from their ad.
Your photos, videos, sounds and edits are never sent to AppsFlyer or anyone else. CamSoul shows no ads.
Subscriptions (Pro, Studio), lifetime purchases and single cameras are sold and charged by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your payment details.
To validate and restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat. It receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app (not linked to your identity), the purchase receipt issued by the store, and basic technical information (device model, OS version, app version). This data is used only to know which purchases are active on your device. RevenueCat acts as a processor and does not use it for any other purpose.
Your settings (selected camera, format, intensity, recognised purchases, edit in progress) and your creations are stored locally on the device, in the app's private storage. They are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall CamSoul. We hold no copy.
CamSoul is not specifically directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data about them.
Your creations are on your phone, under your control. You can refuse or withdraw ad tracking at any time (iPhone: Settings › Privacy › Tracking; Android: Settings › Google › Ads). To exercise your rights of access, correction or deletion over measurement or purchase data, contact us through the Support page: we forward the request to AppsFlyer or RevenueCat.
CamSoul's cameras and effects are original colour and texture recipes with descriptive names. They are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any camera or film manufacturer.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its update date. A material change will be announced in the app.
